My New Blog: Be Your Own Travel Agent
Welcome to my third blog called Be Your Own Travel Agent! It is connected to my most recent one, Top 10 Planning Questions for a Disney World Trip. But I started to realize a couple of important things. I don't just enjoy (and am good at) planning trips to Wait Disney World, but other places too. And there are plenty of blogs, websites and guidebooks about WDW, but very few about general trip planning. Which websites to use for air, hotels and rental cars; how to save the most money; whether to fly or drive; and how to plan for yourself, your family and kids to name just a few topics. I have learned many tips and tricks over the years of planning my own trips. In this blog, I will share them with you so that you too can be your own travel agent!
You might ask why wouldn't someone just use an actual travel agent. There are a few good reasons. You just want to do it yourself, but just aren't sure how. Some trips are too small for a travel agent to handle such as a weekend road trip. Even just a few tips could still save you money and improve your trip in a variety of ways. Another factor is that the internet travel business is so huge, and while it is incredibly convenient, it can also be overwhelming, unless you know which sites and apps to use and how to use them.
There are many other useful things I have learned from doing so many longer and shorter trips, including how to pack, keeping the kids occupied, bringing or renting bikes, strollers, and sporting equipment, renting cottages, and taking advantage of frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programs. Almost as important though is the idea that the planning just adds and extends the fun of travelling! All the possibilities are exciting, especially when you know how to quickly find the information and use a few tricks of the trade.
So I hope that if you have been following my previous blog, you will also follow this one. I will also have a Facebook page with blog updates on it. Here's to lots of trip planning tips and inspiration!
